Amelie Peace is a French artist based in London. Her practice is centred on the research of the Unspoken: a form of communication that exists before language, communicated through the body and understood without words. Manifesting through dreams, memory, instinct and the subconscious, the Unspoken reveals emotional and psychological experiences that resist verbal expression.
Drawing from queer literature, dreams and observations of the world around her, she develops a symbolic visual language through distorted figures and complex narratives. Her paintings investigate the coexistence of opposing states—fear and liberation, intimacy and isolation, tenderness and violence, control and surrender, the human and the animal, dream and reality—not as binaries, but as simultaneous conditions of human experience.
Rather than asking to be decoded, the paintings invite the viewer to engage with the Unspoken through feeling, creating images that are experienced before they are understood.
